Moving a Refrigerator – How to do this in the right way

Are you planning to move a Refrigerator? Whether you are planning for a long-distance or a short-distance move, be prepared to move your refrigerator safely into your new location. First of all, you have to find out the moving supplies and materials such as a Large moving dolly, Rope or strong cord and/or moving straps, Cleaning supplies, Plain paper or moving blankets, Packing tape, Scissors, Marker or labels, and Dolly for moving the refrigerator.

Clean out the refrigerator by removing everything inside it and carefully pack all the items that you want to take away into your new home. After removing everything, let the freezer defrost. It will take 6 to 8 hours, so the best approach is to defrost it overnight and properly clean the interior of the refrigerator so you would be able to take a fresh start into your new residence. Remove the shelves and tape the interior refrigerator drawers closed and wrap the shelves with moving blanket, towels or newspaper to protect them during your moving process.

Wrap the cord and secure the door and in case of a double – door, you have to tie the doors closed and attach a tape but keep in mind that when you remove the tape, the paint surface will produce a scratch, and the surface might be disturbed. Position the fridge on the dolly and tie it by using the moving straps, especially if you have stairs in your house.  If you don’t have moving straps then you can get it from any moving company instead of buying it and once the refrigerator gets its right position the move it downstairs to the renting truck. If you don’t want to go through all this hectic process, hire the best A+ Movers who can assist you throughout the moving plan.
